Add Review/CommentArt Connections Café series presents the artists of 'Poetry in Motion' for a free, moderated discussion of art. Kathryn Pinto works on paper and in bookmaking and printmaking. She came to Arizona from New Haven, Conn., by way of Portland, Ore., and San Francisco. Her interest in landscape and environmental issues grows out of the repeated experience moving to a new city with a different climate and unfamiliar surroundings, just barely adapting to it and then relocating to another city to begin the process yet again. Rahee earned a bachelor's of fine arts degree from the College of Arts Babylon University in Iraq and uses his difficult experiences from growing up in a Saddam Hussein-led Iraq as a propelling force that moves him to create his artworks. Since moving to Arizona and becoming an American citizen, Rahee has shown at the Arizona State University Art Museum as well as the January Solo Exhibition this year at Shemer Art Center and Museum. He is currently earning his MFA in Ceramics at ASU.
