Over forty years ago the Museo de Arte de Ponce was founded by philanthropist Luis A. Ferré who sought to acquire a well rounded and timeless collection. Using his keen eye for beauty and with the help of Dr. Julius Held-one of the leading art historians in the 20th century-he amassed one of the most spectacular collections spanning six centuries and eight countries.
