May 19, 2008
Home is now San Francisco, but mystery writer Louise Ure is a fourth generation Arizonan. Ure will be making a stop at in Glendale to discuss her books. Her current book, The Fault Tree, is set in Arizona and is the story of Cadence Moran, a blind woman thrown into a desperate race against a killer. Ure's debut novel, Forcing Amaryllis, was the Shamus Award Winner for Best First Novel. It features Arizona jury consultant Calla Gentry, who becomes embroiled in a world of buried lies and violent rage when she tries to uncover the truth about her sister's rape. Ure is a graduate of the University of Arizona, l'Université de Dijon in France, and the American Graduate School of International Management (now Thunderbird School of Global Management) in Glendale. For 25 years, she pursued a career in advertising and marketing that took her to three continents. In 2002, she decided to follow a lifelong dream and try writing fiction. She decided to write the type of book she enjoys reading - mysteries. Helpful Information: Ure's books will be available for purchase and signing at the program. No reservations are necessary.
