"Acting At Its Best"

This show has quite possibly the best acting I have seen in the valley. At times I thought I was at the RSC! Great show -- don't miss it.

Never seen Shaw so funny. Higgins and Eliza had the audience in stitches in the first half and in tears in the second. Moving and hilarious.

This is truly the best version of this show I have seen - EVER! Cale is truly brilliant in his complexity as the lead. Richard is as always just commanding on stage while Katilin is the most terrifying Lady M ever. I truly thought she was going mad and it chilled me. The boy playing Fleance and Young McDuff is quite good even though it was confusing to tell he had changed parts. A wig maybe designers? I thought he might be Richard's son because they seem so close. The supporting cast was strong. I LOVED the fights scenes and the lady in front of me squirmed through them watching through her fingers. BRILLIANT!! I am telling everone to not miss this one!!! Collapse

Being familiar with the play and having seen several productions of it in the past, I thought I knew what I was in for. I was wrong. While the sets, costuming and ambiance are all what you would expect from a professional production, the actors’ portrayals have a depth of emotion and range I’ve never seen before in a Shakespearean comedy. Two performances stand out in particular. Richard Baird’s Petruchio convincingly covers the entire range from dark grief at the death of his father to internal torment at the “Taming” he puts his beloved through to farcical hilarity as he works his schemes. Baird owns the stage in his scenes. Nathalie Cadieux’s Bianca is the true delight in the production. Bianca is usually a flat, lifeless placeholder character, a simple plot device. Cadieux’s excellent physical technique, bratty manner and expressiveness make Bianca’s brief moments on stage some of the funniest and most laugh-out-loud of the production. Thru 10/13. Highly recommended. Collapse

This is a fantastic "don't miss" show! The director nicely solved some of the Women's lib issues with the plot without changing any of Shakespeare's words or intent. The actors all played their parts so well that, after the first few minutes, we were so engrossed we didn't notice that some of the words were not modern. It was a fantastic, fun evening. Don't miss the Director's talk outside before the show and the "talk back" by the actors after the show for a complete experience! Collapse
