Add Review/CommentIt starts innocently enough: a ping pong ball floats down a river in the Mongolian grasslands and is found by young Bilike (Hurichabilike). No one has even seen such an object. Is it a magical pearl from heaven? A religious talisman? A nuisance? Or the national ball of China? Not even the monks know what it is or what to do with it. Bilike and his friends are determined to understand what the mysterious object is, why it was sent to their community, and to return it to its source. The resultant film is part comedy, part social and political satire, and part documentary. For those who have seen none of the documentaries shot in that part of the world, MONGOLIAN PING PONG is likely to be an exhilarating journey into a natural world of unparalleled beauty. Fans of THE GODS MUST BE CRAZY will respond the most enthusiastically. ~ Nick Salerno.
