Add Review/CommentTwo Bosnian boys – 11-year-old Sani and his teen brother Ado – have been orphaned by the Serbian bombing of Mostar. They've come to Ljubljana in Slovenia to stay with their aunt and uncle for what Sani thinks is a summer vacation but Ado knows that it is permanent. The film wastes no time on reopening old wounds but just follows the boys over the course of the summer. And what a summer! They both learn a bit about teen life, and adventures, and even some sex, in this witty, knowing, coming-of-age story that reminds us all of what we used to be as kids. ON THE SUNNY SIDE manages to be fresh, funny and touching all at the same time. It should take its place beside Lasse Hallstrom's classic MY LIFE AS A DOG. ~ Robert Glatzer Director: Miha Hocevar Country: Slovenia Year: 2003 Runtime: 96 minutes Slovenian with English subtitles Principal Cast: Filip Duric, Sasa Tabakovic, Mustafa Nadarevic, Karin Komljanec, Sabina Kogovsek, Milena Zupancic Producer: Jure Kosak Cinematographer: Slobodan Trninic
