Youth musicians from across the Valley will be featured during the annual 'Catch A Rising Star' summer concert series presented by Jazz in Arizona, pairing up-and-comers with established Valley jazz artists. This week's concert features Glendale's Paul Eirik Melhus Quartet and the Lucas Pino Quintet. 'Audiences love these energy-charged performances,' said Stan Rader, president of Jazz in AZ. 'They bring out the best in emerging artists, who challenge their veteran counterparts for audience response. The series is a great opportunity to hear some of our finest local jazz artists and to support young up-and-coming players. Make it a cool Wednesday evening family affair.'
