    In 2007, Anat Cohen was recognized as the 'Up and Coming Musician of the Year', 'Clarinetist of the Year' at the Jazz Journalists Association Awards and 'Rising Star Clarinetist of the Year' in Downbeat Magazine's long running annual critics' poll. Cohen made history in July 2007 at New York's Village Vanguard when her week-long run represented the first time a female horn player-and an Israeli-headlined at the legendary club. She has long held the lead tenor saxophone chair in Sherrie Maricle's Diva Jazz Orchestra, the top-shelf, all-woman big band with which she has toured the world. Image Credit: Bill Westmoreland
