Add Review/CommentIn the spring of 1945, an American soldier named Kurt Klein liberated 21-year-old Gerda Weissmann from Nazi rule - and then fell deeply in love with her. This remarkable true story of love, loss and survival, set in post-war Europe and America, has been told in books and in an Oscar-winning documentary, but never before on stage. See and discuss highlights from the collaborative 'Moment Work' development process with acclaimed director Leigh Fondakowski (head writer/director of The Laramie Project), writer/producers Bennett Singer and Ellen Reeves and the ensemble. Watch innovative theater in the making as Gerda's Lieutenant takes shape, juxtaposing poignant love letters written by Kurt and Gerda after the war with moving reminiscences of their life together and recent interviews with Gerda, who now resides in Scottsdale.
