We Are About Beauty contains more than 25 paintings and drawings by Hopi artists. Some of these works have never before been displayed. The many ways that Hopi artists have shown the truth of Charles Loloma's statement, We are about beauty, will be on display through this exhibition, which pulls from the museum's collection. Artists Neil David, Fred Kabotie, Michael Kabotie, Dan Namingha, Otis Polelonema and Ramona Sakiestewa are all included in this exciting exhibition. Not to be missed during the opening is the unveiling of a restored mural by Hopi artist Charles Loloma (1921-1991) that is believed to be his only surviving mural and thus, an important historical work. This large painted tempura and muslin mural depicts a Hopi Buffalo Dance on a muslin-like material and was restored by Tucson conservator Gloria Giffords.
