Many of the Museum's favorites are part of this installation designed around five themes: color field painting, abstract expressionism, art from Latin America, assemblage art and large format photographs. The color field gallery is anchored by five Helen Frankenthaler paintings from throughout her career. The Museum's great Willem de Kooning painting is complimented by an earlier work of Bay-area expressionist Paul Wonner, a new acquisition from the Joyce and Jay Cooper Collection.
