Add Review/CommentDowntown is the heart of the Valley's creative community, the hotbed of Phoenix culture, art, history, music, theater and sports. Each of singular value, presented as a whole conveys an intricately layered urban lifestyle. Urban Affair, the Valley's premier urban living event, delivers a celebration of this activity and energy by bringing together an exhibition of people, businesses, organizations, and institutions that make downtown special. The opening night celebration takes place at the Phoenix Art Museum. That includes a special invitation to 'Explore Your Core' during the following weeklong Affair, which includes events, activities and other downtown promotions. Event Description: A Friday night cocktail reception will be highlighted by a number of live performances, interactive exhibits, multi-media visuals and static displays. Guests will be invited to experience and learn more in a spirited environment that will serve as a kick-off to the arts season. Invited participants include: The Arts - arts organizations, artists, filmmakers, chefs and more convey the energy and vitality of urban life. Design Community - architecture and amenities that help define our physical surroundings. Food and Wine - iconic downtown restaurants and chefs serving a progressive tasting menu throughout the evening. Proceeds will benefit the Downtown Phoenix Public Market, downtown's community gathering place funded by the non-profit Community Food Connections.
