By the Tony-award winning composer/lyricist of 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Falsettos, here is an energetic, sardonic, often comical musical about a composer during a medical emergency. Gordon collapses into his lunch and awakes in the hospital surrounded by his maritime-enthusiast lover, his mother, his best friend, the doctor and the nurses, and a certain frog named Mr. Bungee. Gordon, we learn is very frustrated. He spends his days writing songs for a children s TV show that is draining what is left of his talent. Just in time, death comes near to remind him that life is not about prizes and fame, but making the most of his time and music. A New Brain is an uplifting, funny and adult musical about finding the light at the end of very dark tunnels and appreciating those who patiently greet us at the other end.

I’ve never been much of a theater fan so I was unsure of what to expect when I attended the Saturday night performance of A New Brain last week with some of my co-workers...I absolutely loved it. Artists' Theatre Project's production of A New Brain at Soul Invictus blew me away with a talented cast and all encompassing performance. I highly recommend attending A New Brain to anyone looking for an inspirational and fast-paced evening of fun. Collapse

I wasn't sure what to expect, but was blown away. The singing was great, the actors were passionate, and the story fresh and original. Although, philosophically I disagree with the homeless character, the woman who played her was awesome! What a voice! The man who played "the fat nurse" put his heart into it and was a pleasure to watch. I was blown away by what this group accomplished. I haven't had such a great time at a local show in years. Money well spent, extremely entertaining and highly recommended. Collapse

I LOVED this show! I have seen many shows by this company and this is one of my favorites. The acting and singing is incredible. It made you laugh and cry and and the actors were great at capturing your attention and pulling you in. For a small company and location they sure do put on great entertainment! My husband and I always enjoy supporting them. Way to go on another great production! Collapse

I am not an avid fan of theatre. I went to see this with some friends and LOVED it! It was funny, sometimes sad, with a great message. The cast was awesome and very talented! I wouldn't doubt it if some of these actors end up making their marks at larger theater companies such as Phoenix Theater. This would be a testament to their skills. I highly recommend this play to any adults looking for great entertainment at an affordable price. Collapse

Once in a while as an audience member, you are treated to a performance that both exceeds any expectations you may have had, and moving you to new emotional heights along the way. Artists'Theatre Project's production of A NEW BRAIN at Soul Invictus did just that. Arguably, the most introductory friendly of the 4 produce-able pieces by William Finn, the show has something for everybody, from catchy pop ballads to clever sondheim-esque patter songs, the cast is exceptional. That being said, admittedly, I am sucker for women belters, and Kimberlee Blazes through William Finn's score with razor sharp precision hitting notes in the stratosphere while making it seem as effortless as cutting through butter with a hot knife. RUN do not WALK to see A NEW BRAIN at @pro!!! Collapse
