A true Tempe tradition - Oktoberfest with a western flair! At Way Out West Oktoberfest you'll feel just as comfortable in your cowboy boots and hats (or shorts and flip-flops) as you would in your lederhosen. Kick up your heels at any of the three stages of free entertainment - enjoy country rock on the Main Stage, non-stop polka on the Polka Stage and family-friendly acts on the Family Stage. People return year after year for a Johnsonville Bratwurst with sauerkraut and a traditional German beer, but there's lots of other great food and drink too! Chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, grilled corn on the cob, chocolate dipped strawberries, hot roasted almonds and much more. Bring the whole family. Open from 10:00am to 8:00pm Saturday and Sunday, Kinderfest includes free arts and crafts for the kids, splash playground waterpark, bouncy rides, carnival games and rides, and a wide variety of family friendly entertainment including clowns, dance troupes, children's choruses, comedians, and dance lessons. The Main Stage and Polka Stages are also family-friendly during the day. Parents can bring the kids, spread a blanket on the grass, enjoy a cold beer, and listen to great music while the kids dance, play or even sleep... Produced by Tempe Sister City volunteers to raise money for international student/teacher exchanges and international humanitarian aid projects. Not your ordinary Oom-Pah!
