The nation's largest professional flamenco dance company, Calo Flamenco: Ballet de Martin Gaxiola will present its production 'Nacimiento' (translation: birth, origin). Over 20 dancers and musicians are set to bring you the passion and artistry of flamenco staged by Artistic Director Martín Gaxiola and Musical Director Chris Burton Jácome. As a traditional dance form originating from the gypsies in Andalucia, Spain, flamenco exhilarates audiences with its rhythmic footwork, fiery energy, and alluring body movement. 'Whether you are an aficionado (fan) or a newcomer,' said Gaxiola, 'people can connect with the essence (aire) of flamenco and its eloquent, yet powerful approach to individual expression through movement, song and music.'
