Celebrate the start of light rail construction in downtown Phoenix/Copper Square! Mayor Phil Gordon, Vice Mayor Michael Johnson and officials from Downtown Phoenix Partnership and Valley Metro Rail will be there to get people excited about the opportunity that light rail will provide in the revitalization of downtown Phoenix, and to show their support for downtown businesses. The first 600 people will enjoy free ice cream, as well as rubber bracelets with the message 'Urban Vision.' Enjoy a live band, the Suns' Gorilla, see models of the train and station, and booths for Copper Square restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Celebration Location: The event will be held in the Renaissance Square Plaza at Central and Adams, just behind Baja Fresh.
