Two legendary stars from Mexico's golden age of cinema, Maria Felix and Dolores del Rio, have retired to an art deco apartment in Venice where they replay their starring roles in classic films such as Journey into Fear and El penon de las animas. The actresses obsessively revisit their rival careers in Mexico and Hollywood while they are attended by Nubian slaves and serenaded by the music of Jorge Negrete. Into their world intrudes a fan who makes them confront the tension between their ordinary lives and their imagined realities, their identities as people and their personas as actresses. Appropriate for mature audiences. First produced in 1982, Orchids in the Moonlight won Mexico's National Award for Literature. Credits: By Carlos Fuentes, Directed by Oscar Giner Post-show discussion Thursday, Oct. 20.

Spectacular, magical, and mystical all at once. The year's first identifying latino's play. T'was breath taking....
