Carlos Manuel describes his one-man, semi-autobiographical play as an 'apolitical, in-your-face, homo-erotic odyssey of a Mexican immigrant.' It reflects his ideologies and points of view about religion, cultural clashes, sexuality, Mexican soap operas, politics, high school, family ties, Latino pop music, immigration and even Barney the Purple Dinosaur. The play includes 18 different characters including Manuel's mother, grandmother, high school teachers, nuns and Ricky Martin. Appropriate for mature audiences: contains sexual content. Credits: By Carlos Manuel. Photo by Tim Trumble. Directed by Antonio Campo-Guzman. La Vida Loca will be shown at 9:30pm as part of Late Nights at the Lyceum, a series of innovative alternative programming for the Tempe community.
