A sparkling romantic comedy from start to finish, George Bernard Shaw's Arms and the Man focuses on the ironies and complexities of love and war in which language may be the most powerful ammunition. It is one of the funniest and cleverest satires on war, honor, patriotism and nobility ever penned. Capt. Bluntschli escapes battle by hiding in a lady's bedroom where he meets the beautiful but naïve Raina, who later coins a nickname for him: The Chocolate Cream Soldier. The play was made into an opera and has been produced by nearly every major Shakespeare Festival in the world. Join us for this festive, funny, and romantic adventure story, perfect for the summer season.
