Lines are drawn and three friends, Marc, Serge and Yvan, square off over the purchase of a very expensive white painting. As the serio-comic argument over the canvas becomes less theoretical and more personal, it becomes an excuse to relentlessly batter one another over various failures. At the breaking point, the friendship is finally tested with the introduction of a felt tip pen.
