Wash away those workday blues with this musical soap opera, presented in Scottsdale Desert Stages' intimate Actor's Café. What's the dirt on SUDS? It's Squeaky-Clean … SUDS bubbles over with innocent fun and plenty of laughs! A family-friendly musical about a broken-hearted Laundromat lass who finds Mr. Right, with some stain-scrubbing help from three angels from above. With 'A Little Bit of Soap'… …as well over 50 other chart-topping hit songs from the sensational sixties are woven through this musical revue. Songs like 'Johnny Angel,' 'These Boots Are Made for Walking,' 'Secret Agent Man' and 'You Don't Own Me' are sure to leave you 'Wishing and Hoping' for more! And No Ring Around the Collar! SUDS washes away those grimy work-day blues and promises a sweet-smelling happy ending that'll make you want to 'Shout.' It's the most fun you'll ever have in a Laundromat! Only 88 quarters for this two-act load of fun. Credits: Created by Melinda Gilb, Steve Gunderson and Bryan Scott. Directed by Roger Prenger.

My daughter and I went to see this play, not having any idea what it was about. We LOVED it! All the songs were from my teenage years and I could relate to them. My 41 year old daughter could too. I recommend this play if you want to go have a relaxing, fun evening. The seats are very close together, but it all worked out. Collapse

I saw Suds originally when it first opend and then about a month or so ago with the new cast. This is a great fun show with, good music and a really silly storyline, which made it fun for me. In the original cast, I LOVED the chemistry between Marge and Dee Dee. They were quite the duo and a hoot to watch with Dee Dee's "blonde" moments and Marge's take charge attitude. Johnny Angel provided nonstop laughs and is a smooth dancer, while Cindy was just absolutely adorable. Her washing machine bit in locomotion had me on the floor. The music was great. If you love the sounds of the '60's, this is for you. The new cast featured a new Cindy and Dee Dee, whom I also enjoyed watching. They did provide different takes on the characters than the original cast, but I still had a good time. If you are looking for a show that will help you relax and give you a little chuckle after a stressful day, then you should see this show! Collapse

I really didn't enjoy this show. The only reason I will say I didn't hate it was because of the actress playing Marge. She was the only one with any sort of comedic timing and had a great animation to her faces. She was very professional had a fantastic voice. (except when her costars ruined her solos) I realize this is a musical review, but there was still room for acting. The cast (other than Marge)had a very unprofessional sound and etiquette (the show started almost 15 min. late). Also, we were crammed into the tinyest space imaginable. I'm glad I wasn't there with my boyfriend, as it was not exactly an ideal date. As for the other characters: Cindy-they needed to give her a mic. Even with me sitting right in front of her, I had no clue what she was saying or singing. She didn't seem to know what she was doing. DeeDee-umm..wow. There are no words. Just awful! The random guy with a 20 "characters"-he would be okay, if this was high school theatre Collapse

I saw "Suds" the second weekend of its LONG run. It started out really cute with a nice little set in a really small theater. Then we meet Cindy, and she had a very pretty voice, but I had a hard time hearing her (even though I was sitting in the front row right in front of her). However I could hear perfectly when the other two female characters came on. They two female gardian angels were the BEST part of the show. Besides the actors the songs were good, there were some good ones and some really bad one. They was no exact one story line which made me angry sometimes, but thats because I like a story line. All in all it was good, but they have a lot of minor things to work out. Collapse

I saw this show last Saturday night and really enjoyed it. I have to say that it is a very light hearted, fun loving show. If you like/love the music from the 60's, you will really enjoy singing along with the whimsical characters. This is a show to see if you want to get away from life for a few hours. If you are looking for an in depth serious look into the issues of life, this may not be the show for you. The voices were really nice to listen to and there were some very funny moments. For the type of show it is, it deserves 5 stars. Collapse

Let it be said that there is not enough space on this forum to explain how amazing SUDS was opening night! The scenes were hilarious. The entire cast possesses immeasurable talent, and I will definitely see this show again and again. "Cindy" shines onstage in all she does. You'll fall in love with her sincerity, not to mention her smile! "Marge" will have you rolling in the aisles, laughing till you hurt all over! "Dee Dee" keeps the show spinning with her bubbly banter. And finally, "Johnny Angel" will amaze you with incredible acting range! He plays 6 different characters!!! Do not miss this show!!! The 60s are back, and here to stay at Desert Stages! Well done! Collapse
