Enchanting characters come to magical musical life in this romantic tale that's as old as time. Belle, a feisty young woman confined in her small provincial town, meets the Beast--in reality, a young prince whose lack of compassion has trapped him in a spell. Only love can save the Beast and make him human again. Edgar Andrew Torrens directs this dazzling production that features Amber Gildersleeve as Belle and Terry Helland as the Beast. Additional Credits: Adapted from the Academy Award-winning animated film, this delightful production features music by Alan Menken, with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and includes memorable song favorites 'Be Our Guest,' 'Belle' and 'Beauty and the Beast.'

    My husband and I came in from Chicago for the holidays to visit our children. I have seen Beauty and The Beast around the country numerous times, and Desert Stages Production was by far the best one I have seen. Belle was Beautiful and has a lovely voice, she was the animated character come to life. The Beast was equally talented. Mrs. Potts and Cogsworth were a joy. However the performances that stole my heart, and kept me laughing, were the Adorable Chip and the Enchanting Lumiere, his character really grabs hold of you and you can't wait to see what he'll do or say next, he really knows how to command the stage. Gaston and LeFou were a great pairing. The staging was wonderful, and the ensemble terrific. I would gladly see this show again, and again, as well as recommend it to anyone, Great Job Desert Stages! It was so wonderful to see the characters from one of our favorite movies come to life and entertain us with this beautiful story. Collapse

    I really enjoyed watching this show, although it wasn't Belle and Beast that captured my attention. It was the entertaining duo of Gaston and LeFou that were the hit of the show. Lumiere was also dazzling from his accent to his humor. The musical numbers were fantastic and I would recommend anyone to see this wonderful show. Collapse

    My daughter and I went to see the show last night, and we were COMPLETELY enthralled with the show. We LOVED every single part of the show from the costumes, cast and abilities. I immediately came home and emailed every single one of my friends in town and told them they can't miss this show. There are no words to describe Belle. Her mannerisms and her voice left me wanting to follow her to her next shows. I would even like to go see Beauty and the Beast again, before the end of the run. I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone.     I saw Beauty and the Beast on opening night and it was really impressive. I was amazed at their costumes and actors. The only thing that brought the show to a halt was their older adult... Expand

    I saw Beauty and the Beast on opening night and it was really impressive. I was amazed at their costumes and actors. The only thing that brought the show to a halt was their older adult ensemble. The actors really made me feel like I was just watching the movie and seeing those cute animated characters. Their dances were not the best that I have seen, but they were very good. I really recommend this show to everyone. Collapse
