Art Auction at Annual Cooks' Tour

Gallery owner Kristen Cline and local artists Heather Kirk and Joan Rennix were assigned the task to increase awareness of the Art Auction portion of Cooks' Tour, an annual event held at Valley Presbyterian Church. That's quite a task, given the annual one-day benefit, in its 36th year, is already quite famous in the Valley for the home tours offered at three different and amazing homes every year. The day's offerings include the home tours, lunch by Arcadia Farms, silent auctions for antiques and packages through local businesses, a Crafter's Boutique known for its holiday decorations, Grandma's Gourmet Pantry and a unique fresh air marketplace. Over the years they have raised over $1,000,000 to support missions that improve the lives of children and families, providing education, healthcare, shelter and food to those in need. With such a reputation to uphold, Cline and Kirk, new to leadership for the event, did what everyone does when under pressure - they asked their friends for help! In addition to the past talented artists represented at the Cooks' Tour Art Auction, many of whom are church members, additional professional and emerging artists will contribute art to the important cause. Many will be present at some time during the event for 'Meet the Artist' opportunities. Ms. Heather Kirk's own fine digital art will be joined by that of renowned oil painter Agustin Vargas, newly relocated to the Valley from Mexico, oil painter Rodolfo V. Delgado, digital photographer Jill Meyerson, multimedia and glass jewelry artist Joyce White. Other individuals have donated art-treasures from their collections -- signed limited edition prints by Bev Doolittle, Chuck DeHaan, and James Bama; Moon River by Richard Kozlow, and Bach Magnificat in D Minor by Charles Wysocki, among many others. Useful Information: The art can be previewed on Sunday October 29th, 8:30am-11:30am near the main sanctuary, and Wednesday November 1st, 5:00pm-6:30pm in Room 418.
