A stage-struck playboy from New York City takes on a Nevada mining town in this dazzling Gershwin musical where romance, mistaken identities, and show-stopping tap numbers all add up to irresistible fun. Crazy For You embraces the quintessential musical - where everyone sings, everyone dances, and anything on hand is used to make music. The plot is adapted from the 1930's musical, Girl Crazy, with an energetic cast, a touch of outrageously funny humor, colorful costumes, great scenery and one of the best musical scores of the century. The incomparable team of George and Ira Gershwin produced some of the best-known American standards for stage and screen. Who could ask for anything more? Special Event: There will be a special New Year's Eve Gala featuring actors from Crazy for You, along with a three-course dinner, live jazz and dancing. Holiday Family Shows: Trees brilliant with holiday lights and fancy decorations will greet kids and their families at the Arizona Broadway Theatre on December 12, 21 and 23 - where they will experience a live Broadway show and a visit with Santa. Special attractions for families will include the following: Wednedsay, December 12 - Foothills Middle School Choir will perform holiday music on the lobby beginning at 5:15pm, prior to the evening performance of Crazy for You and on stage during intermission. Friday, December 21 - ABT's own touring ensemble, Bits and Pieces, will entertain prior to the evening show in the lobby and on stage beginning at 5:15pm and again on stage during intermission. Sunday, December 23 - Bits and Pieces will perform in the lobby and on stage beginning at 11:45am prior to the matinee as well as during intermission. In the lobby following each performance, Santa will be sitting on his golden chair, chatting with the kids and giving each of them ABT holiday keepsake gifts, as flashes from cameras capture the moment. The Crazy for You cast will also be on hand for pictures as they mingle with family members. For more information, please call (623) 776-8400.
