    by Alexander Danner. For years, Eloquence and Bill have been ferrying recorded messages between their grammar-obsessed parents, who never speak face-to-face. But after a decade of silent cohabitation, the family is on the brink of collapse, and must finally choose either to forgive old indiscretions or to disband entirely. New Works Festivals, such as the one at Phoenix Theatre, allow professional playwrights an opportunity to develop their work in front of an audience, without elaborate costumes and sets. The plays are presented by professional actors and directors in a casual, staged reading format. The plays selected are new, full-length works that are 'near-ready-for-production.' Audience members in attendance are encouraged to provide feedback and share their insight with the playwrights, directors and actors after each reading.
