Close Encounters With Music brings together sublime chamber music, distinguished performers and musical commentary, all in the intimate setting of Theater 4301. In this unconventional and varied recital, American guitar master Eliot Fisk joins acclaimed cellist Yehuda Hanani in a program of works by Boccherini, Bach, Paganini, Albeniz, Villa-Lobos and de Falla. The last student of legendary Spanish guitarist Andrés Segovia, Eliot Fisk was awarded the Cruz of Isabel la Catolica for his service to the cause of Spanish music. Known world-wide for his adventurous repertoire and willingness to take art music into unusual venues, he has performed to dazzling critical and public acclaim in recital, as a soloist with major orchestras and in a wide variety of chamber music combinations, including a command performance for President Bill Clinton and King Juan Carlos of Spain. A reception with the artists will follow the performance.
