The second show of the season is Beyond Therapy, written by Christopher Durang and directed by Richard Schultz. In this hilarious comedy, the plot concerns Prudence, a New York City yuppie who has decided to search for a boyfriend in the personal ads. She meets Bruce, who is kind and understanding, but their date does not go well. He expresses emotions and likes to cry. Prudence does not think men should cry 'unless something falls on them.' Bruce has a male lover. 'I'm bisexual,' he tells her. She is not so sure. They talk at cross purposes, and end up throwing water in each other's faces. The play's themes include New Yorkers' reliance on psychiatry and the universal quest to find love and companionship.
