Dust off your boots, shine your spurs and celebrate the spirit of the American West at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum. This event celebrates the cowboy as a true American icon, his way of life and our country's western heritage. The annual National Day of the Cowboy was set aside by the United States Senate to honor working cowboys and cowgirls, rodeo athletes, western musicians, cowboy poets, western artists, ranchers and all others who continue to contribute to the culture and economy in America every day. There are approximately 800,000 ranchers in the United States, and rodeo has grown to be the sixth most-watched sport in the United States. Important Information: Wearing a cowboy hat can get you in for free
