It's December of 1939 in Atlanta, Georgia.. Gone with the Wind is having its world premier, and Hitler is invading Poland, but Atlanta's elitist German Jewish are much more concerned with who is going to Ballyhoo, the social event of the season. Meet the Freitag family: bachelor Adolph, his widowed sister Boo Levy and their widowed sister-in-law Reba. Boo's daughter needs a date for the dance; Adolph brings home his new employee Joe Farkas; but is a Brooklyn-born Jew of Eastern European heritage of equal status to the Freitags? The family gets pulled apart and then mended together with plenty of comedy, romance and revelations along the way. Events take several unexpected turns as the characters face where they come from and who they really are.

The play was very enjoyable and entertaining, full of humor and real life characters. The acting was good. I especially liked the performance of Mike as Father and Christian as Joe, but all the cast did a good job. The stage design was beautiful, and so were the costumes, which was surprising for a small local theatre. I would greatly recommend the play. Collapse
