It's December of 1939 in Atlanta, Georgia.. Gone with the Wind is having its world premier, and Hitler is invading Poland, but Atlanta's elitist German Jewish are much more concerned with who is going to Ballyhoo, the social event of the season. Meet the Freitag family: bachelor Adolph, his widowed sister Boo Levy and their widowed sister-in-law Reba. Boo's daughter needs a date for the dance; Adolph brings home his new employee Joe Farkas; but is a Brooklyn-born Jew of Eastern European heritage of equal status to the Freitags? The family gets pulled apart and then mended together with plenty of comedy, romance and revelations along the way. Events take several unexpected turns as the characters face where they come from and who they really are.

    I thoroughly enjoyed this production of the show (which I have seen before, though not done as well). The songs were beautifully sung, they had a fun video screen with multimedia on it and some great lighting moods. If you like Cabaret or Chicago or NY, NY, you will like this. I highly recommend it. The only thing that keeps it from getting a 5 is that it's been done a million times and it's mostly the same show you've seen, but done right. check it out. Collapse
