Rope a steer. Learn to use chopsticks. Paint a mask. These are just a few of the fun activities for kids at WorldFEST. Each of the Phoenix sister cities will be represented – Calgary, Canada; Catania, Italy; Chengdu, China; Ennis, Ireland; Grenoble, France; Hermosillo, Mexico; Himeji, Japan; Prague, Czech Republic; Ramat-Gan, Israel and Taipei, Taiwan – and each booth will have interactive and educational activities that kids can get involved in. In fact, we encourage kids (12 and under) to stop at every booth and participate in every activity… taking a tour of the world and getting their “Passport” stamped at each stop. Once they fill their passport with stamps they can claim a very special gift that they can take home. We’ll officially kick off the event with a parade at noon on Saturday, followed by a full line-up of multi-cultural entertainment on the Friendship Stage. You will enjoy Irish step dancers, Israeli folk singers, Chinese Lion Dancers, Mariachis and a variety of youth performing groups. Hungry? Thirsty? We’ve got that covered too, with foods from all over the world, including authentic Mexican foods from Tradiciones Restaurant and Pro’s Ranch Market. Adults can also sample 50 unique beers and ciders from round the world (all on draft), and enjoy live bands on the World Stage (open Friday and Saturday night until 10 pm). We’ll have an eclectic mix of Rock, Pop, R&B, Soul, Funk, Jazz and Latin Rhythms
