The new technologies for cinema and the automobile arrived almost simultaneously. For over a century, filmmakers have used the car as both an amazing stunt device and as a vehicle for addressing our restlessness, material aspirations, violence and identity. Join us as we trace over one hundred years of the car on the big screen. See clips ranging from the Keystone Cops to Herbie to The Italian Job, with the amazing commentary of Dr. Diane Gruber, who teaches film and mass media in the Department of Communication Studies, ASU, and directs ASU Lifelong Learning.
