Review/Comment
Using trial transcripts, interviews, articles and correspondence of the day, we follow the 'trial of the century'-- the trials of Oscar Wilde. Trying to defend himself from the statement, 'posing sodomite,' Wilde suddenly had to defend not only his sexuality but his own writing, plays and art. This is the harrowing true story of the downfall and de-construction of one of the world's greatest writers.

I have been a theater patron in Phoenix (although I live in Santa Monica, Ca) for many years and I must say I was more than impressed with this iTheater production. "Gross Indecency" had everything I was looking for and more. I actually went twice in two days. It was a delight. I hope you enjoy. Collapse

Although iTheatre has impressed me mightily in the past, this one was uneven. The lead actor was amazing, but most of the supporting actors were unimpressive. This is a long 'talky' play and although the actors did their best to keep the tempo up, it still dragged in parts. And I thought the video of the people being the author and the critic that started the second act was completely unnecessary. Collapse

My wife and I are recent Seattle transplants that have seen the best of what theatre can offer. And I’m a huge Oscar Wilde fan. When I heard this company was doing this play I couldn’t wait to see it. We were blown away. The actor playing Oscar was brilliant. The rest of the cast were equally as amazing in all their various roles. This company should be commended on the masterful staging and direction of this play. Not a production to miss. Collapse
