I am one of the Kindergarten teacher from Burke Basic School. I enjoy so much coming to your plays every year! I am so impressed with the organization as well as the performance, lighting, sound etc. I am amazed at the responsibilities carried by the kids. It is incredible what they are able to do! I am always so excited when I get to come see your shows. I always have to bring my family to see them a second time. Collapse

The Cave Creek Musicfest was so impressive! The talent was amazing, the stage managers were on top of it and the event went off without a hitch. There were people there all day, and the second show boasted the largest crowd. One can only hope that next year is as good, and probably better. Hats off to all that made this event possible. OMG. So awesome. Dark and beautiful and very very sexy. The two leads, Phaedra and Hippolytus are incredible. But everyone was really really good. The set is UNBELIEVABLE. This play literally had something for everyone! Tragedy, humor, combat, dance, gods and monsters, incredible lighting and sets, interesting costumes and a lot more naked people than I thought. Damon [Dearing]'s script is marvelous! I don't know Racine's version well, but I know it's not THIS cool. I kinda want to see it again just for the ending. So satisfying, which is unusual for a tragedy. I loved it. Collapse

My husband and I went, lured by affordable tickets, and thought this was a fantastic production. Not only is the solo and choral singing first-rate, but the comic timing and slapstick laugh-out-loud funny. There are two casts. We were told by a friend who saw both that they are both excellent. My friends went and saw this play the weekend prior and were raving about it. They decided to go again and I came along. I am very glad I did!!! The show was very funny. I agree that it was a bit slow at the beginning, but that was necessary to set the stage for the rest of the play. It was hilarious!! I loved the end!!I feel that Johanna (Mrs. Anderson) was superb. She brought wit and a sharp charm to her character and I loved it whenever she was on the stage. The interactions between Samuel and Michael were also very funny. I especially enjoyed the final scene (not only the final final part, but the last act itself). It was very outrageous and I enjoyed the interplay between Marc, Samuel and Michael. Also, Johanna at the end was fantastic. The rest of the cast were also funny and it was great to watch the interactions bewteen each of their characters. The only criticism I have was that multiple times throughout the play the actors made reference to the fact that gay men would only go to a play if there was the chance to see a naked man. At first it flowed well with the play, but then became a bit overdone when it was referenced on multiple occassions. I agree with the fact that a naked man will draw people to a theatre, but that's not the only reason. While knowing that there would be a cute guy was a bit of a draw for me it was also the fact that my friends loved the story and kept telling me how funny it was. If a play only has naked people running around without any plot or a decent story, no matter how cute the cast, I will not pay money to go see the play. Classic plays are interesting, but for me comedy will always trump drama and that was the biggest reason I came to this show. Collapse

What happens when two gay friends, underemployed actors, are locked in a room together? Two friends who zealously idolize the Broadway musical to the point of distraction. What happens? Why a musical collaboration, of course! [title of show] is the giddy, delightful result of just such a collaboration. (Years ago Nathan Lane was asked if he was gay. He told the interviewer, “I'm a single man in my forties. I love Broadway musicals. You do the arithmetic!”) The Arizona Theatre Company has the distinct honor of being chosen the first regional theater company to produce this marvelous, offbeat musical. As expected, the Arizona Theatre Company does the show proud. Collapse

Friday night, on the opening of Mary Poppins and nearly 75 years after P.L. Travers created one of America’s and Disney’s most beloved characters, I witnessed several things which I have never witnessed in 30+ years as both a spectator and reviewer of Broadway from the Neil Simon Theatre on West 52nd to Arizona State University’s own Grady Gammage Auditorium. In addition to what amounted to a near perfect evening, an unbeatable cast; Original UK Tour Star Caroline Sheen reprised the role she made famous in London as the nanny who everyone knows and loves and brought with her Bert; London and Broadway Star Gavin Lee, Laird Mackintosh and Blythe Wilson as George and Winifred Banks and Katie Balen and Bryce Baldwin as the mischief craving Jane and Michael Banks. Along with a host of other honorable mentions and a set which was positively jaw dropping in its magnitude (The Banks House alone weighs in at 40,000 lbs. while 250 different props make their way through the cast’s 250 different Collapse
