I saw the play on the 18th. Although I did not have a great deal of sympathy for the role of Doreen, Marlo Thomas was entertaining. But Julia Brothers gets my vote as one of America's finest actors. She made the leap from looking like an actor on stage to being the part. Amazing. If you want to see what great acting is supposed to look like, go see this play. Julia, I apologize for not leading the stand for an ovation. The bows came so quickly that I missed my mark. But I am standing now. Collapse

This was a horrible show. I found nothing I liked about rent in it. Music and costumes were the worst parts I guess. Horrible.

I am sad that "Rent" is now going to go the way of other musical "warhorses" that are dulled by community theatre productions that cannot possibly live up to the needs of the show. This was awful. The direction was so bad. The lighting was EVEN WORSE. Some OK singers, but overall the acting was terrible. I've seen "Rent" 5 times. Once at the Orpheum and that was a pretty terrible production... but noting as bad as this. Collapse

I have never been to a production where I found myself not paying attention. This was a first! I found it dragging on in places where it clearly shouldn't, and the show was more about Carla's life than George or Doreen! With all due respect to Marlo Thomas, the star was Julia Brothers. The story reflected much more about her life than Doreen’s. I feel Ms. Thomas's name was used as the star to help promote the production. The cast did a wonderful job; set and lighting design were done nicely. There were some comic moments for sure, but I'd not suggest to a friend to see the production if asked. Collapse

I thought the show was great...wonderful singing and acting by most of the cast. I was dissappointed with Jenn's acting ability as Joanne Jefferson, however, she sings pretty good. I would recommend you see this play. Collapse
