I never knew what to think about hypnotist shows and when I went to Bob Faith's hypno zone show I was suprised. I volunteered and has a blast. It was like the best virtual reality / dream I ever had. I remember everything and my girlfriend was impressed at what a great singer I am. Singer???? I am not a singe. But with Bobs help I was a rock star. If you can go to the show next tuesday, you must go. It was a great time and while we did not have the checken, the steak dinner was great. Go to the show, be in the show. you will not regret it. I will be back!! Collapse

It's fun, intimate and WOW! No more of the Tempe Improv for me, it's only THE COMEDY SPOT. The StageBenders tore it up! Best club, best time!

This show was marvelous. The talent is top notch and all members of the cast make every moment of the production unforgettable. The food is to die for and you won't believe the ambience.

Two down, two to go, and what great fun. These staged readings are as close to a full production as you could wish, utilizing outstanding local actors with whom regular theatre goers are quite familiar. But the coup of the evening, which adds at least a half star to the overall experience, is the stimulating post show audience discussion, which includes the playwright, director and actors. Not only can the audience request an explanation of various substantive and production aspects of the new play, but they can also offer suggestions as to how they think the play might be further enhanced. Anyway, try to catch the last two weekends. This is my third full season for the Phoenix Theatre's New Works Festival, and I wouldn't miss it for the world. Nor the many other staged readings around town such as those at the ASU College of Fine Arts. Which reminds me Dan, what ever happened to that free ticket? Collapse

A delightful production, with very good scenery, singing, acting, and directing. But some of the principals seemed to sing and speak so softly that it was difficult to hear all their words, even from the second row. Then I realized that the accompanying music was too loud by half. But do go this final weekend, and maybe take in the famous nearby fountain which goes off on the hour, wind permitting. Collapse

Desert Stages Theatre has a hit on their hands with West Side Story. Antonio Villarreal's (director, chorographer, costumer & Bernardo) concept shined brightly last night from the moment the Jets came on stage dancing brilliantly followed by the sharks and the whole cast in vibrant bright exciting colors, dances, and vocalizations. How Antonio was able to take a large scale musical and make it work in an intimate setting such as Desert Stages is nothing short of genius. It has to be seen to be believed! Incredible performances by talented actors made this a theatrical experience that I personally have not experienced in any local Phoenix theatres. This is not to be missed!! Collapse

Probably the best show this season along with Valhalla and Trainspotting (Stray Cat Theatre). This is an amazing company and the show will leave you breathless (literally)! Amazing concept, beautiful direction, fabulous actors and actresses and the grown up Tommy especially remarkable. I have rarely heard such a tremendous voice from such a young performer. Go see it before it is over or you will regret it! Collapse

This was a wonderful show. I can't believe they pulled in off in this space...it should be in the "big" Phoenix Theatre. The cast and orchestra are spectacular. Cudos to Damon....way to go. A big pat on the back. The young man playing the adult Tommy is one of the best young talents I have seen in Phoenix. What great casting. Go see it....4.5 stars should be 5 but the space takes away 1/2 star. Collapse

What an amazing show in such a small theatre. This cast rocks the house and brings you into a true musical concert experience. There are some very dark moments and sexual ones at that. The 10 yr old Tommy and the lead Tommy are not to be missed. I have seen other work at this theatre and this has to be the best thing they have done since they started the theatre. There are some weak moments like the Acid Queen singer and the opening of Pinball Wizard but the rest of the ensemble makes up for the flatness in those moments. The dancing from Scorpius Dance is so unique it takes this show to a new level. I doubt I will see a show like this again in Phoenix for quite some time if ever. This group for the most part has professional talent and many of them should be on professional stages not community theatre. I am gonna keep my eyes open for the 2 Tommy boys because they will be somebodys someday soon. The sound is a little weird and the band is often loud. GO SEE THIS! Collapse
