    Tempe Beach Park

Built in 1931 and renovated in 1999, this 25-acre entertainment oasis is Tempe's oldest and best-known park. More than a million folks hit Tempe's beach annually where they enjoy major events such as Live @ the Lake concerts, Tempe's Fourth of July celebration, Octoberfest and the nation's second largest New Year's Eve Party. Situated at Tempe Town Lake's west end, the park offers up plenty of family and sport activities. Splash into water fun at Splash Playground, hop aboard a Rio Lago Cruise tour or rental boat, relax in the 5,000-seat grassy amphitheater, grill up an outdoor feast in the picnic area or have a ball at the park's historic baseball field. Wide paths are great for cycling and skating, and little folks keep busy at the sand play area.
