ASU Museum of Anthropology
The Museum of Anthropology at Arizona State University features changing exhibits on archaeology, human origins, society and culture.
The exhibits reflect human efforts over time to adapt to-and create systems of meaning within-changing natural, social and political environments. Museum exhibits involve the collaborative efforts of student, faculty and community and, as such, reflect a wide range of interests and topics of study. The Museum benefits from its affiliation with ASU's Museum Anthropology Program, as well as its access to the research collections and expertise of the School of Human Evolution & Social Change (former Dept. of Anthropology), the Archaeological Research Institute and the Deer Valley Rock Art Center.
The Museum aims to share with audiences the many ways in which cultural expression finds form, as well as to highlight creative and adaptive strategies pursued by human communities in different places and in different times. It is our belief that anthropology can provide invaluable insights into the ways in which people on the ground both experience and respond to change-lessons that are necessary in an increasingly global and complex world.
The Museum is located in the Anthropology Building on the ASU Tempe Campus, at the corner of Cady and Tyler Malls. Limited pay parking is available at the south-west corner of University and Mill or in the ASU Foundation Building on the north-east corner of College and University (see ASU parking map). Tour groups are advised to call in advance to reserve parking space.
